OTA
Ota was from Congo, from a tribe called Twa. He was stolen from his home from an American Businessman named Verner, when he was 23 years old. He was short, only 4' 11 and 103 pounds. He was shipped to Saint Louis Missouri and exhibited at a fair. Ota and some other Twa's were forced to live out customary life for an audience. All of the members of Ota's tribe were sent back home. But Ota stayed. When Verner went bankrupt, Ota was left in the possession of the American Museum of Natural History. The museum sent Ota to the Bronx Zoo where he was exhibited in the Monkey house. He shared a cage with an orangutan. He was released to a park after of some protesting. He was teased and harassed. He was turned over to an African American orphanage for children. In 1916, ten years after he arrived in America, Ota was told he would never go home. He died that day. He shot himself through the heart.
What the hell is wrong with humanity.
